Mastering Live Preview while Editing

In traditional CMS platforms, making a copy or price update requires saving, publishing, and manually refreshing the live site—risking public exposure of mistakes.

Appsuite provides an integrated Live Preview mirror. As you edit text, adjust technical specs, or upload engineering diagrams, the preview pane mirrors changes typically within a few seconds (depending on network latency and transmission), giving you responsive visual feedback without touching the public site.

Traditional CMSAppsuite Live Preview
Blind Editing: Typing in text boxes without knowing how it looks on the page.WYSIWYG: Instant, side-by-side split screen updates as you type.
Publishing Risks: Mistakes are immediately visible to online buyers.Safe Sandbox: Live Preview is private to you until you explicitly publish.
Mobile Guesswork: Unknown how tables wrap on mobile screens.Multi-Device Emulation: Switch between desktop, tablet, and mobile views instantly.

  1. Log in to your Payload CMS Admin Panel.
  2. Navigate to Offerings or Pages and click any item (e.g., the seeded “VD Cylindrical Rubber Vibration Damper”).
  3. In the top action bar, click the Preview button.
  4. The screen splits into two synchronized panels:
    • Left Panel: Your editable fields (titles, descriptions, dynamic spec columns, and SKU variants).
    • Right Panel: A real-time rendering of the actual Astro storefront.

  • Update Product Title: Type (In Stock - Ready to Ship) after the title on the left; watch the H1 header update immediately on the right.
  • Tweak Matrix Pricing: Change a variant price from $0.16 to $0.20; the corresponding row in the matrix table updates instantly.
  • Mobile Viewport Test: Click the mobile icon at the top of the preview pane to ensure technical spec columns scroll smoothly on small screens.

Remember Appsuite’s safety boundaries:

  2. Publish: Once satisfied in Live Preview, click Publish in the top right corner.
  3. Deploy: In the SymbolFlow dashboard, trigger Deploy All to distribute the published changes across global edge networks.
